On Friday 2 December 2016 we’ll be hosting a Dance for Parkinson’s participatory workshop as part of Dancing Wellness, a two-day event led by the Dance & Creative Wellness Foundation in partnership with Sadler’s Wells and Rambert.

Delegates will have the chance to join participants from our London class and take part in a session exploring Akram Khan’s Giselle, providing an insight into how we use repertoire to inspire our programme.

Watch our video on Dance for Parkinson’s to gain an insight into our workshops:

Dancing Wellness explores the role of dance in lifelong healthy living and will feature different perspectives on dance for creative wellness from the UK and across Europe. The two-day event will provide inspiration for dancers, teachers as well as therapists, practitioners, carers, health care providers and those interested in integrating dance and creativity in wellbeing and preventative health practice.

“Coming together to dance is a joyful and shared experience that has physiological and psychological benefits for lifelong wellness. Let’s celebrate the significant contribution of dance as a holistic and person centred approach to preventative health at Dancing Wellness.”

Tamara Rojo, Artistic Director & Lead Principal, English National Ballet

Delegates can experience insights from Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Monaco, Serbia, Switzerland with practitioners from companies such as Ballet Preljocaj (FR), Ich bin Ok (AU), ERGstatus Dance Theatre (SB) and Monica Gillette (DE) who join Foundation directors Clare Guss-West (CH) & Andrew Peter Greenwood (NL).

The concept of dancing wellness will be explored through presentations and workshops from Sadler’s Wells, Rambert, Aleka Loutsis, Filipa Pereira-Stubs, Darcey Bussell’s DDMIX, with contributions from ‘Dance for PD’® Mark Morris Dance Company, One Dance UK, Trinity Laban and many others.
